Ndundu AB

The Ndundu factory is located in the Kiambu county of central Kenya, roughly 50km from the capital of Nairobi. The factory is part of the Thiririka FCS. Affiliate members of the co-op are required to follow the society's diligent agronomic activities, with members receiving technical advice and supervision through the society's training programs.

PROCESSING

Once the cherry is delivered, the coffee is pulped and put through a 'Kenya Wash'; the initial 48hr fermentation is followed by second 24hr fermentation. Coffees are then taken to be dried on raised beds, taking 10-15 days weather dependent.

TRACEABILITY

This lot from the Ndundu factory was sourced through Falcon Specialty. Falcon uses a local Kenyan company, allowing them to work directly with producers or bid directly at the national auction system, rather than going through exporters or large multinationals.
