V60

STEP ONE

Boil the kettle to 92-96ºC. We recommend clean, filtered water with a mineral hardness between 50 - 175ppm. Whilst you’re waiting, weigh out and grind 15g coffee on a medium to fine grind.

STEP TWO

Place the V60 on your mug, add a filter paper and pour hot water over the paper to preheat your V60 and mug, and remove any papery taste.

STEP THREE

Pour out the water and place the V60 and the mug on to your scales. Add the coffee grounds evenly.

STEP FOUR

Pour enough water to thoroughly wet the grounds and wait for around 30 seconds. This is called the Bloom step. Pour until you've reached 30-40g of brew weight.

Blooming allows trapped gas to escape the coffee grounds, that would otherwise obscure the flavour of your brew.

STEP FIVE

Slowly pour more water, using a circular motion, avoiding the edges where the grounds meet the paper. Stop pouring when the scales read 250g - the whole process should take around 2.5 minutes.

STEP SIX

Enjoy!
