Recipe - Ted's Clarified Coffee Cocktails - #1 : Vodka + Odo Shakiso Coffee Sour

Cocktail #1 : Vodka + Odo Shakiso Coffee Sour

Makes 3-5 cocktails (50-75ml each)

Ingredients:

50g+ Coconut Milk (or any other kind of milk)
50g Grapefruit Juice
100g Vodka
2g Citric Acid
1.7g Saline (Mix 1 part salt to 5 parts water)
2g Lemon Zest
7g Odo Shakiso (or an alternative coffee)
50g Rich Simple Sugar Syrup (2 parts sugar to 1 part water. Eg. reduce 80g granulated sugar and 40ml water over hob until syrupy and free from granules)

Step 1: Mix all ingredients together except the milk, sugar and coffee
Mix the grapefruit juice, vodka, citric acid, saline and lemon zest together thoroughly in a large jug. Stir to dissolve the citric acid if necessary.

Step 2: Add to the milk
Pour your cocktail mix into the milk, and leave it to sit for 30 mins to curdle.

Step 3: Filter through used coffee grounds
Make yourself a pourover or filter coffee, drink that, and then filter the cocktail and milk mix through the used coffee grounds (and coffee filter paper). This can take a couple of hours. This will remove any solids and curds from the mix.

Step 4: Add sugar syrup and dilute
Taste and add your desired amount of sugar syrup. If you’d like to, you can also dilute with a little water at this point; we recommend using 10% of the final cocktail volume.

SERVE CHILLED, IN A SHORT GLASS OVER ICE

Modifications: You can easily substitute the vodka for another spirit, substitute the sugar for your sweetener of choice in the syrup, use other citrus fruits, and use your preferred kind of milk! If using lemon or lime juice, you can omit the citric acid.
