The Chikon lot is produced by a group of Mazatec indigenous farmers who live in the Sierra de Flores Magón, northern Oaxaca. They cultivate their coffee at elevations ranging from 1,400 to 1,900 meters above sea level. The Mazatec coffee growers utilize traditional polyculture farming methods, where coffee plants are intercropped with fruit and timber trees. This approach helps to preserve the ecosystem, and diversify food resources.
