Our Washed x Natural sets offer a rare opportunity to taste and compare the direct effect of processing method alone. Two coffees, grown side by side, separated only by the processing method. The differences may surprise you. 

STORY

This lot is grown between 1,600 to 1,850 masl in Rwanda's Nyamasheke District, located in the west of the country. The Kilimbi Washing Station, established by Muraho Trading Company in 2016, sits along the shores of Lake Kivu. Accessible only by boat, local producers transport their harvest across the lake to reach the station. Kilimbi was among the first washing stations in Rwanda granted permission to produce honey and naturally processed coffee.

PROCESSING

Natural Process. Whole cherries are sun-dried in thin layers. Constant turning of the cherries is required to ensure even drying and to prevent the occurrence of defects.

This lot from Kilimbi W.S was sourced through Raw Material. This partnership helps affiliate co-operatives increase their quality of production, fetch a higher price for their coffee, and introduces them to new markets.
