Nandi Hills

This lot was grown on Priory Farm, perched on the steep Nandi hills approximately 700 to 1,500 m.a.s.l. Located between Kericho and Nandi County, this estate is owned and run by the Muge family, who are dedicated to cultivating diverse coffee varieties.

PROCESSING

This lot was processed using a traditional washed technique. Cherry is pulped and washed in fresh clean water before being dried on patios. The estate also prides itself on its own dry mill, making it one of the more unique operations in Kenya.

TRACEABILITY

Sourced from Lot 20 Coffee, through Omwani. Lot 20 was founded in 2019, they work with smallholders in the Kericho and Bomet counties, organising farmers into functioning entities that process and sell their own coffee; without the assistance of the Kenyan auction system.
