Sebastião Vicente de Souza

Sebastião Vicente de Souza operates his farm at an elevation of 950 - 1100 metres above sea level in the Divino municipality of western Minas Gerais. This harvest, Sebastião submitted this lot for the Pio Corteletti Coffee Quality Award, a competition organized by Nater Coop for coffee producers in Minas Gerais and the neighbouring state of Espirito Santo. Sebastião secured 2nd place in the Natural process category, achieving a score of 87.15 from the judges.

PROCESSING

Whole cherries are dried either on raised beds or patios in thin layers. Constant turning of the cherries is required to ensure even drying and to prevent the occurrence of defects.

TRACEABILITY

Sourced through Osito Coffee. Beginning in 2018 in Colombia, Osito has expanded its sourcing to include several origins. In Brazil, Osito has established a strong relationship with the producers they work with through Nater Coop.
