Women in Coffee Collection
story
This new collection brings together four coffees sourced from female producers across Brazil, Rwanda and Colombia.
These coffees are individually produced by Elisabete Martins, Beatriz Aparecida de Souza Guimarães, Luz Helena Salazar, and the Rambagira Kawa Women’s Group.
Each coffee reflects a different approach to cultivation, processing, and farm management, shaped by the experience and decision-making of the women behind them. Together, they showcase how female producers are contributing to quality and innovation within specialty coffee.
Although this collection is available for a limited time, our commitment to sourcing from female producers and communities continues year-round.

Rwanda, Dukunde Kawa Musasa cooperative / Mbilima Washing Station
rambagira kawa womens group
This Rwandan lot is produced exclusively by 130 women members of the Rambagira Kawa Women’s Group. The premiums earned from this coffee are directly reinvested into initiatives that support these women, many of whom are widows, genocide survivors, and heads of their households.
Members of the Women's Group own their supply chain, export over two containers of coffee annually, manage their finances through an independent bank account, cultivate a shared coffee plot, and run a community lending scheme where members receive micro-loans with no interest.
Due to the dedication and hard work of these women, the Dukunde Kawa Musasa cooperative was named the Overall African Winner of the 2022 Fairtrade Africa Gender Equality Champion, beating every other Fairtrade producer across the continent.
Elisabete Martins & Bossa coffee Co.
Elisabete Martins began her journey in coffee in 2000, when she and her family transitioned from running a supermarket business into farming. What started as a way to diversify income quickly became a long-term commitment to coffee production. At Fazenda Cachoeira do Campo, Elisabete and her family have steadily expanded their work, continually improving quality through hands-on experience and shared knowledge.
We are proud to work closely with Bossa Coffee, a women-led importer focused on sourcing coffees from female producers across Brazil. Through this partnership, we are able to build long-term relationships with producers like Elisabete Martins, and source exciting Microlots from producers such as Beatriz Guimarães.
Bossa Coffee Co. was founded by Bruna and Emma, both certified Q-graders with vast experience in sourcing specialty green coffee in Brazil.
They focus on building long-term relationships with female-led farms and businesses. Bossa also actively supports regenerative agriculture. They work with producers to improve soil health, increase biodiversity, and conserve water, while encouraging reduced chemical use and more diversified farming systems.

Brazil, Fazenda Lavrinha
Beatriz Aparecida de Souza Guimarães
Beatriz Aparecida de Souza Guimarães represents the fifth generation of her family’s coffee production at Fazenda Lavrinha in Minas Gerais. Her coffees have been recognised at the Expocacer Champions Stage, reflecting a strong focus on quality and innovation. Working alongside her sons, who are trained in agronomy, Beatriz continues to develop processing techniques and refine production methods to elevate the coffees grown on her farm.

Colombia, Finca Maracay
Luz Helena Salazar
A familiar name to you by now might be Luz Helena Salazar who has been producing coffee for over 20 years, she owns Finca Maracay (1450 masl.) in Armenia, Quindío.
We source coffee from Luz Helena year on year due to the incredible quality of coffee she produces.
As the mother of the founders of Cofinet, Luz with the help of her two sons continuously improved farming practices and has transitioned to focusing exclusively on producing specialty coffee. We’ll be sure to return to Luz Helena’s coffee again and again.
Our commitment to sourcing coffees from female led farms and communities such as the Rambagira Kawa Women's Group continues all year round.
