story
Niguse Jilo’s farm is located in Halo Bariti village at 2150 masl. in the Yirgachefe region of Southern Ethiopia. PROCESSING
This coffee underwent the natural process. Whole cherries are laid out on raised African dryin gbeds for 15 - 18 days. Constant turning of the cherries is required to ensure even drying and to prevent the occurrence of defects. Once dried the coffee is sent to Gedeb dry mill for hulling, and further hulling at the town of Dunkem, before beeing destoned, screened and ran through a gravity and colour sorter. .TRACEABILITY
Sourced through Omwani Coffee Company, in partnership with Mecota Trading—an Ethiopian exporter established in 2023. Mecota works with smallholder farmers across Ethiopia’s coffee regions, consolidating microlots into exportable quantities while promoting traceable, direct trade practices.
