Shoondhisa

This lot is produced by 35 smallholders from Shoondhisa Kebele and then processed by Sookoo Coffee at their central location in Shakiso, at the Suke drying station. Sookoo Coffee is run by Ture Waji, who established the company in 2017. On average, smallholders own plots of around 2.5 hectares, and it’s not uncommon for coffee to be grown in gardens alongside subsistence crops. Many farmers lack the infrastructure, volume, and financial ability to process their own coffee, so centralised drying stations enable farmers to sell their crop for a good price.
